What Is International Women’s Day and Why Should I Care?
In this blog post, I will talk about one of the two groups of people joining us: Women.
International women’s day is a day that is globally recognized to celebrate the essential part of humankind, namely women.
It has been celebrated for over 100 years, with the first International Women’s Day celebrated in 1911.
The day is observed to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements and is celebrated on the 8th of March every year.
The theme for the day changes every year, and events and activities are held globally to celebrate women’s contributions and promote gender equality, even if we still have a long way to go.
In a recent comment, the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, said humanity has 300 years until we have achieved full gender equality worldwide. (Source: Cnn.com)
