Introduction

In this blog post, we will talk about the unity of Christ and the Churches, the result of His apostles.

The Bible Should Always Be Our Guide In Life.

Unity and Diversity but Never Divided

All Churches in the entire World might differ a lot in theological standpoints and issues except for one: Jesus Christ is Our Lord and Our Saviour. He is the Word of God which was spoken in the moment of creation, the Light of the World, the Bread of Life, the Truth, the Way and the Life and the Lamb of God.

If we take a quick look in the history book of Christianity we can discover that the Church has never really been unified in every theological matter or in every teaching around Jesus Christ except for that He is the only begotten Son sent to Earth to bring salvation to all human beings living on the planet as the Gospel of John (3,17) so clearly states.

In just a few days from now, Christians all over the World will lit candles, pray and eat together with family members and friends and sing Christmas carols to commemorate His birth in a humble stable in Bethlehem which in translation means the House of Bread. We might differ in other teachings but all of the above every Christian living on planet Earth can agree on.

When Jesus was resurrected, apostles were sent out to preach what they had witnessed. They came from all walks of life in the contemporary World and one apostle told the story a little bit different from the other, yet through the Holy Spirit of which they all spoke nothing of importance was forgotten nor added.

Right from the start Christianity was diversified and is so still today. This is important to remember that nothing really has changed over the course of two millenniums. We must keep the apostle St. Paul’s words in mind when he writes: “Now I mean this, that each of you is saying “I am with Paul” or “I am with Apollos” or “I am with Cephas”, or “I am with Christ”. Is Christ divided? Paul wasn’t crucified for you, was he? Or were you in fact baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Cor. 1,12f, NET).

This is important to keep in mind if you are dating someone that isn’t a member of the same Church as you. Remember instead the apostle’s words that: “Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free but Christ is all and in all.” (Col. 3,11, NET).

Making a list – why not?

Make a list of the most desirable things that you want to find in your true Christian match and then continue with the less desired. It is also important to make a list of things you don’t want. Then rank them, which is the most important that the other must have and which undesirables can you overlook?
