In this blog post, I will reveal one of the cornerstones of making your first date with someone to be the first of many.

I don’t know how many dates you have been on and how they went, but I know that just by letting you know that your behaviour matters can be a real game-changer if you haven’t had much success before on asking your date out again and again.

You need to understand how your behaviour matters and how it affects your chances to get a second date.

If you want all the details, keep on reading below…

Increasing Your Chances On Getting The Second Date

How you behave on the first date will always increase or decrease your chances to get a second date. Behaviour is the first thing you notice when you meet someone.

Always remember to listen to what the other person says and that if your date is buying you coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch or dinner you should say “Thank you”. You should be the best version of you as always.

Here are a few things that you also need to remember on all dates:

Using a mirror before you go out on a date is crucial.

Remember to brush your teeth, comb your hair and do all the regular stuff you use to do. Using eau de cologne/perfume and deodorant are always good (if your date isn’t allergic to fragrances of course).

You might even want to have a bath or an extra shower before you go out on a date, so you don’t smell. It’s a huge deal-breaker but not the worst one as I’ve told you in a previous post.

Arrive there on time! You don’t want to give him or her the wrong impression about yourself. If you’re stuck in traffic or had some unplanned delay, calling your date and telling him or her that you will be a bit late due to something out of your control is always appreciated.

Holding up doors, be nice and listen attentively are also good dating advice for men. Remember what the other person has told you on the dating website is also something good.

At the end of the date, you might ask for a second one. This is a good pattern that you can use for all consecutive ones too. Also, let the person know that you had a good time by actually telling him or her exactly that.

Then, if the circumstances are right, you might kiss her. You’ll find my advice about kissing your date in another post I’ve written.

Please also remember that you have to leave separate too! It would help if you did not insist on following him or her home or trying to get him or her to the bedroom after the first date.

What You Should Avoid On Dates

Just as important to write about what you should do is to mention some of the things you shouldn’t do. I do know that you know them already, so these are just reminders to yourself.

You should not:

  • Burp
  • Fart
  • Yawn
  • Pick your nose
  • Talking or interrupt your date when he or she is talking
  • Be rude to the staff of the café/restaurant/bar where you are
  • Talking bad about your exes!

All of these things are good things you always need to remember. Basically: Behave properly and as good as you possibly can. This will increase your chances to be getting a second date with the same person.

Of course, it is OK to say so after the date has ended if you do not like them.

Next blog post

My next blog post will be published on Saturday the 25th of July 2015.

It will be about what to do between the first and second date or maybe a new first date with someone else.

See you then,
Rickard
