What makes a text irresistible?

It isn’t a secret combination of words.

It isn’t waiting exactly 47 minutes before replying.

And it definitely isn’t finding a psychological trick that somehow takes away her ability to decide whether she likes you.

An irresistible text works because it fits the moment.

The message you send after a great first date should be different from the one you send when you’re flirting on a Tuesday afternoon. What works with a woman you’ve known for months might feel completely inappropriate with someone you matched with yesterday.

That’s why context matters.

In my guide to things to say to turn her on over text, I explained the different types of messages that can create curiosity, anticipation, playfulness, and attraction.

This time, let’s make it even more practical.

Here are 15 texts for 15 different situations – plus why they can work and when you should actually use them.

1. After a Great First Date

You just got home.

The date went well.

Now you’re wondering whether texting immediately makes you look too interested.

Try:

“I had a really good time tonight. We should definitely do that again.”

That’s it.

No strategy.

No three-day rule.

No pretending you didn’t enjoy yourself.

Why it works

Confidence isn’t hiding your interest.

It’s being comfortable expressing it without demanding anything in return.

If she enjoyed herself too, you’ve made it easy for her to say so.

And if you’re still trying to get to that first date rather than following up after one, start with my guide on how to text a woman for the first time.

2. When She Teases You

Suppose she makes fun of your questionable taste in music.

Instead of defending yourself, try:

“Keep talking like that and you’re choosing the playlist on our next date.”

Why it works

You’re doing three things at once.

You’re accepting the tease.

You’re teasing her back.

And you’re casually introducing the possibility of seeing each other again.

Notice that you’re not saying:

“Please go on another date with me.”

You let the idea come up naturally.

3. When Something Reminds You of Her

You see something connected to a conversation you’ve had.

Send her a picture and say:

“This immediately made me think of you.”

You don’t need to explain much more.

Why it works

This message is powerful because it’s difficult to fake convincingly.

Something actually happened in your day, and she entered your mind.

That tells her she made an impression.

And small associations like these can also help her think about you later.

4. When the Conversation Is Getting Boring

You’ve reached:

“How was your day?”

“Good. Yours?”

“Good.”

Dangerous territory.

Instead of trying to resuscitate the conversation with another generic question, change direction:

“Okay, important question: what’s something you’re ridiculously competitive about?”

Why it works

Interesting conversations often need a pattern interrupt.

You haven’t asked for her résumé.

You’ve given her something to form an opinion about.

And her answer gives you somewhere to go.

If she says mini golf, bowling, board games, or cooking, you might even have the beginnings of a future date.

5. When You Want to Flirt Without Getting Sexual

Try:

“I’m starting to think you’re a bad influence on me.”

If she asks why, give a real, playful answer.

Maybe she convinced you to try something.

Maybe she keeps distracting you.

Maybe you’ve developed an inside joke around it.

Why it works

It implies flirtation without forcing the conversation into sexual territory.

She gets room to participate.

That’s important because good flirting isn’t something you perform at a woman.

It’s something you create together.

6. When She Sends You a Great Photo

You could send:

“Hot.”

But she may have received that response many times before.

Try noticing something:

“That smile tells me you were definitely up to something.”

Or, if appropriate:

“Okay, you look ridiculously good in that.”

Why it works

You can tell a woman she’s attractive.

There’s nothing wrong with that.

The difference is whether you respond like someone who actually knows her or like the 27th fire emoji in her notifications.

A specific, genuine response usually gives her much more to work with.

7. When You Want to Create Anticipation

Suppose you’re meeting Saturday.

On Friday you might send:

“I have something planned for tomorrow that I think you’re going to like.”

Only use this if you actually do.

Why it works

The date begins in her imagination before it begins in real life.

She starts wondering what you’ve planned.

That’s anticipation.

But don’t manufacture mystery around ordinary things to get a reaction.

If “something planned” means you’ve decided which Starbucks to visit, you might be overselling it.

8. When You Want Her to Imagine the Two of You Together

Suppose she mentions loving Italy.

You could say:

“You’d be dangerous in Italy. We’d go for one glass of wine and somehow come home three hours later.”

The point isn’t Italy.

The point is the picture.

Why it works

For a few seconds, she can imagine the scene.

You.

Her.

Italy.

Wine.

Whatever happens during those missing three hours.

This is an example of future pacing – using language that makes a possible future feel vivid enough to imagine.

There’s an entire dating system built around a much more aggressive version of this concept, which I’ll come back to later.

9. When You Want to Compliment Something Other Men Might Miss

Instead of:

“You’re beautiful.”

Try something you genuinely noticed:

“I love how excited you get when you talk about your work.”

Or:

“You have this way of making everyone around you feel included. I noticed that.”

Why it works

Physical attraction matters.

But being noticed as a person matters too.

If you appreciate something about her, you don’t need a complicated texting strategy. Sometimes you should tell her.

I’ve written more about this in How to Make a Woman Feel Appreciated, because the principle matters far beyond texting.

10. When You Want Her to Chase the Conversation a Little

Try:

“I just remembered something about our date that made me laugh.”

She’s probably going to ask:

“What?”

Now tell her.

Why it works

You’ve created curiosity.

But here’s where a lot of dating advice gets silly.

Don’t reply:

“I’ll tell you later 😉”

and then disappear for six hours because someone told you mystery makes women obsessed.

She asked because you made something sound interesting.

Reward the curiosity.

Good conversation builds trust. Constantly withholding information to manipulate attention eventually destroys it.

11. When You Want to Ask a Flirty Question

Try:

“What’s something about you I wouldn’t guess from your dating profile?”

Or, once you’ve established more chemistry:

“What’s something you find attractive that most guys would never guess?”

Why it works

Questions can quickly change the emotional direction of a conversation.

The first invites personality.

The second invites attraction.

But the timing matters.

Don’t open a brand-new Tinder conversation by interrogating a stranger about what turns her on.

The right question at the wrong time is still the wrong question.

I’ve put together more examples of questions that can build attraction over text for exactly this reason.

12. When She Gives You an Opening

Suppose she says:

“I’m freezing.”

You could respond:

“Sounds like you need someone to keep you warm.”

That’s an obvious flirt.

Whether it works depends almost entirely on the relationship you’ve already established.

Why it works

She created the opening.

You’re moving the conversation slightly further in a flirtatious direction and seeing whether she follows.

If she does, continue.

If she changes the subject, let it go.

Attraction develops through responsiveness, not escalation at all costs.

13. When You Want to End the Conversation First

You’ve been having a great conversation, but you actually need to go.

Say:

“I need to get some sleep, but I’m enjoying this. Continue tomorrow?”

Why it works

You don’t need to disappear without explanation to prove you’re busy.

You can end a conversation while simultaneously communicating that you’d like another one.

That’s far more confident than deliberately leaving her on read because an online dating guru told you it creates scarcity.

14. When You’re Ready to Stop Texting and Meet

Eventually, somebody needs to suggest actually meeting.

Try:

“We’re clearly too entertaining over text. Let’s continue this over a drink. Thursday?”

Why it works

There’s a clear transition.

You’ve enjoyed texting.

Now you’re moving forward.

No endless pen-pal relationship.

No vague:

“We should hang out sometime.”

You’ve actually suggested something.

If Thursday doesn’t work but she’s interested, she can suggest another time.

If she happily keeps texting you but repeatedly avoids meeting in person, that’s a different problem. Here’s why she keeps texting but doesn’t want to meet up.

15. When You Want to Create a Future Picture

Let’s return to the idea from #8.

Suppose she tells you she loves cooking.

You could say:

“One day we’re doing a cook-off. You choose the dish, I’ll choose the wine, and the loser does the dishes.”

She might respond:

“You’re definitely losing.”

Great.

Now you are building the imaginary scene together.

Why it works

You’re no longer merely exchanging information.

You’re creating a small possible future.

This is the idea behind what’s sometimes called future pacing.

It also helps explain why certain dating products focus so heavily on texts designed to make a woman picture herself doing something with you.

You’ve probably encountered claims about a mysterious 12-word text that supposedly makes women unable to stop thinking about you.

The words themselves aren’t magic.

What’s much more interesting is what the message is trying to get her to imagine.

I’ve broken that idea down separately in my article about the 12-word text and why it’s supposed to make her think about you.

Can a Text Really Be “Irresistible”?

This is where we need to separate good marketing from real dating.

No text is irresistible to every woman.

Think about what that claim would actually mean.

A woman who isn’t interested in you would somehow lose the ability to remain uninterested because you arranged twelve words in the correct order.

Human attraction doesn’t work like that.

The better question is:

Can a text increase attraction when attraction already has room to develop?

Absolutely.

A good text can remind her of a great date.

It can make her laugh.

It can create anticipation.

It can make her feel noticed.

It can get her imagining what spending more time with you might feel like.

That’s very different from controlling her.

Why “Mind Control Texts” Make Such Good Marketing

If you’ve spent enough time searching for dating advice online, you’ve probably seen phrases like:

“psychological triggers”

“subliminal messages”

“hypnotic texts”

and:

“mind control.”

They’re powerful marketing concepts because they promise certainty in something inherently uncertain.

Dating involves another human being.

You can’t control the outcome.

That’s uncomfortable.

So the idea of a hidden psychological button you can push becomes incredibly attractive.

One product takes that metaphor literally.

The Girlfriend Button markets a texting system around future pacing while wrapping it in much more sensational claims involving subliminal messaging, psychological warfare, and “mind control.”

I think the distinction matters.

The future-pacing concept is worth understanding.

The extraordinary mythology surrounding it deserves much more scrutiny.

If you’ve seen the sales material and you’re wondering what the product actually teaches, what you get, and whether there’s something useful beneath the marketing, you can read my complete The Girlfriend Button review.

The Best Text Is the One That Fits Her

There’s a reason I gave you 15 different situations instead of saying:

“Copy this sentence and every woman will want you.”

Women aren’t interchangeable.

Neither are relationships.

The playful text that works brilliantly with a woman who’s been teasing you all week might feel bizarre when sent to someone you’ve exchanged three messages with.

So before you send anything, ask yourself three questions:

Does this fit where we are right now?

Does it sound like something I would actually say?

Has she been giving me signs that she enjoys this kind of interaction?

If the answer is yes, send it.

Then pay attention to what happens next.

Because attraction isn’t built by finding the perfect sequence of words.

It’s built when two people enjoy moving the conversation forward together.

And sometimes the most irresistible thing you can do over text is stop searching for the perfect message and give her a reason to look forward to seeing you again.
