First, a concise history lesson:
The history of Russia is long, beginning in 862 AD when the first Slavic tribes united as the Kievan Rus in 988 AD; they adopted Byzantine Christianity, which later became a very Russian branding of Eastern Orthodoxy.
Their country was dissolved when the Mongolians invaded in 1237 AD.
The Tsardom of Muscovy replaced the Mongolians in the 13th century AD, which later developed into the Tsardom of Russia, which Vladimir Lenin and the Soviets overthrew in the October revolution in 1917.
The United Socialist Soviet Republic (USSR) lasted until 1993 when it was replaced by the Russian Federation, which is the official name of Russia today.

English would be the German language if you didn’t know that.
Russian has 144 million native speakers, making it the most spoken language in Europe and one of the six official languages in the United Nations.

What does this mean for you?
Well, probably not much, but what I was hoping you could start thinking about is that she is most certainly not used to speaking any other language than her own.
If things were reversed, would you put all your energy and effort into learning another language, even if it’s a language that more people speak when everybody around you speaks the same language as you?
Of course not!
If you want to impress her and her family and are serious about marrying a woman who speaks Russian, why not learn her language a bit?
It is always a good practice to learn some words and how to introduce yourself to her and speak to her about her interests, family, hobbies, and many other things.
There are plenty of options for you to learn Russian online since there are many different courses you can choose from.
