But who am I and why should you care?
I’m a professional dating profile photographer. I’ve helped over 130 busy high-achieving guys get more matches and more dates on dating apps by taking kickass dating profile photos. I’ve worked with clients in over 25 cities in multiple countries around the world. I’ve done tons of trial and error and figured out what works and what doesn’t, and I’ve found a key flaw in how most guys approach their dating profile photos.
Now you know who I am, so let’s get on to the wisdom I’m here to share:
Most guys make a fundamental mistake when putting together their dating profile photos.
If they don’t put up a bunch of mediocre selfies, they put up photos of them:
- standing with a perfect model pose,
- or sitting on some cool looking stairs,
- looking sexily off into the sunset,
- maybe even with a cool pair of shades on
Sound familiar? Maybe you do this too, or at least you hope to take some badass photos to make you look like the badass you are, or at least make girls feel that you are so they’ll swipe right.
The issue is it doesn’t work.
Sure it’s better than a car selfie, but it’s not nearly as good as you can get. There’s a fundamental flaw that’s holding you back from constant matches and dates that make dating easy and fun.
Guys want to feel badass and in charge for the most part. At least to women, it’s easy to want to show that one aspect of yourself.
The thing is, women see through it – and although it’s better than crappy selfies, it won’t get you very far. Women want to feel what you might be like to date – even if you’re just looking for casual encounters.
They want a preview of how you’ll make them feel.
Just putting the coolest photos up will trigger alarm bells “fake! He’s so posed, he’s not like this most of the time I want to see how he really is.”
And even aside from looking too posed, she’s going to feel like you’re one-dimensional.
Even for casual flings, girls want to feel some sense of connection. They want some sense of who you are – guys have sex for validation or status but girls have sex to feel connected to you.
So instead of getting photos that say “I’m cool here,” “I’m a badass there,” and “here’s me looking like a bawsss,” take photos that show you playing your guitar, or playing chess, or paddleboarding… and THEN pop in the badass photo of you walking down the street with your suit looking like a bawsss.
More tips for Unleashing the Female Gaze:
- Take photos of you doing your passions
- Get photos of you with your friends, copy this pose, looking at you over your friend’s shoulder
- Get some photos of you showing off your lifestyle – active? traveller?
These kind of photos will unleash the female gaze and make girls FEEL something about you, seducing them to swipe right and get excited about seeing you in real life.
