I recently got the question from someone I know: Should I delete my Tinder-profile?

The reason why this person asked me, is because of the current situation.

Dating when you should keep a social distance to other humans is hard, and deleting your profile on dating apps such as Tinder might seem like a viable option right now.

Below, I share what I answered this person.

Tinder is only mentioned in this article since it is the most popular dating app, however this blog is not affiliated with Tinder in any way.

Tinder is a trademark by Match Group Inc.

When Shall I Delete My Tinder-Profile?

Let me begin by explaining when I think you should delete your profile on dating apps or dating sites first.

If you are exclusively dating someone, and both of you agree that you are exclusive with each other, then I think you should delete your profile on Tinder or any other dating service that you have used in the past.

I think that if you are dating someone, you can keep your profile but not use the dating service to try and get as many dates as possible.

Honestly, I think this is the best approach under normal circumstances.

However, with times being quite different right now, what kind of advice would I give anyone who asked me.

It is, of course, you who will make the final call.

My advice to someone who asks me whether he or she should delete their profile, I would advise that person to wait unless they are exclusive with someone.

Why would I advise this person to wait?

Because you can use it to browse around, and if you aren’t dating someone right now, or living with someone, you can at least chat with interesting people.

If you are already in an established relationship, you shouldn’t have joined the dating service in the first place.

Here is how you delete your Tinder account.

Did I Advice the Person to Delete the Tinder Account?

So, the thing I know you want to know right now is what I answered my friend and advised this person to do.

I asked whether this person was seeing someone right now.

The person answered no, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone in the current situation.

Then, I asked whether my friend had been dating someone before the outbreak of the pandemic and whether this person viewed it as an exclusive relationship.

My friend answered that there was another person who my friend has been out on a couple of dates with, and might want to date exclusively.

I then asked my friend if they had been speaking with each other.

The answer was no, so my advice to my friend was to reach out, and contact that other person, and send a simple short text message.

After a while, my friend got an answer.

My friend was happy that the other person had been thinking about my friend, and would continue to date when everything was over.

I told my friend that I was happy too.

If you never ask someone, you will never find out whether the person is thinking about you or not.

Read this article to discover why this is important.

My friend is now exclusively dating this other person, so subsequently, I told my friend that I thought that it was a good idea to delete the Tinder account.

Of course, my friend agreed with me, and deleted it.

However, my friend only deleted it once the other person was in agreement that the two was now dating each other exclusively.

When Is the Right Time to Delete Your Tinder Account?

You might not have read my advice above, or still, be a bit puzzled on when it is the right time to delete your Tinder account or not.

I don’t want you to be hesitant or leave you wondering here.

With the apparent risk of repeating myself, I would suggest that the only time I think it is appropriate for you to delete your Tinder account is when you have found someone and agreed that you’re in a relationship together.

Otherwise, it might be a premature decision, and it is better to wait until you are confident that the two of you are exclusive with each other.

Here are some tips on how you can be sure about it.

Why Should I Delete My Tinder Account?

If you are confident that the two of you are in a relationship together, you should delete your Tinder account.

You shouldn’t question yourself, just do it if you are certain.

If you already are in a relationship, you shouldn’t have joined in the first place.

In that case, just delete it.

I hope you have found this information quite helpful, and now you know when I recommend that you should delete your Tinder.

If you did, please share it with the world.

I wish you a fantastic day,
