In this blog post, we will discuss some things you might do on a first date. All information below is compiled by the team and consists solely of their personal experiences.

First of all: Congratulations on having a date with someone!
We think it’s in order to say this first of all. Now, let’s begin writing about some advice.
You are always nervous on a first date, no matter whether you are a man or a woman. In most cultures of the world, men are supposed to take charge. Even though it might differ across cultures, the man might do it in a more subtle way.
Dress properly, be sure you have shaved (men, their facial hair; women, their legs), and look nice and smell good. Ask your date if he/she is allergic to perfume or aftershave before putting it on!
If you put on an aftershave or perfume that sends your date to the ER, chances are very small that the person will give you a second chance to make up for it.
If you’re a woman looking for some tips on what you should wear, here are our coach Rickard’s best tips for you, and if you’re a man, here are what he recommends for you as well.
The first piece of advice is to suggest something and let her pick where you should go. A “coffee date,” i.e., meeting him or her in a café, is never wrong. By doing this, you are giving yourself and your date a chance to escape if either of you feels awkward.

We don’t recommend having the first date at either person’s home, but if you do, make something to eat and maybe propose a film the two of you can watch. If you do, make her choose between a comedy or a feel-good film.
If you invite someone to your place, make sure you have cleaned as thoroughly as possible.
We only recommend meeting in a private home, or, if you are students, we think it’s OK. Then you can make something to eat, but if you do, make sure it’s something people will eat. Here are some easy first-date dinner tips.
Talk about something and make her feel comfortable, no matter where you guys meet.
Make some jokes about something, and of course, listen to what she has to say, her jokes, and her interests. This is the most important thing: the first date is always about the woman
Of course, there is another piece of advice: check what’s going on on social media and talk about it with your date. If you already know each other a bit, you would know each other’s interests. Then you can search online or on social media to see what people are talking about.
Since most guys like sports, it is good to check out the buzz around the team your date follows. If it’s a local team, you can even go to the library and borrow one of the latest newspapers or do a search on that newspaper’s website to find the latest articles. Here are a few suggestions you might benefit from.
Talking about Christ and your faith is another topic we highly recommend discussing on the first date. This is based upon our own experience, of course.
It is always good to take a stand and tell your date about what you think is important. Especially for the ladies, but of course for the guys as well.
For a safe first date, we always recommend reading our FAQs, which are free (you don’t even have to be a member).
