If you don’t have any ideas on what to do on first dates or want inspiration, this article is for you.

Below, I will list ten different ideas on things you can do, and as a bonus, I will also give you a list of ten other places that you and your date can visit on your date.

Before I give you my favorite things to do and visit on a first date, hit one of the buttons to share this article with the world.

By doing that, you share this information with those who need it.

This is the main reason I am blogging, to inspire you and give you some fresh ideas for your next first date.

I always appreciate it when people share my articles.

I recently discussed the first date etiquette, where I covered things like who should pay for the date and other expectations that your date and society might have on you as a man.

You’ll find my best first-date etiquette tips in my previous article.

Let’s start with the things to do on the first dates without further ado.

10 Things to Do on a First Date

I begin by sharing my ten favorite things to do on a first date.

Hopefully, you had contact with your date before, so you know a few things about what she likes.

If you don’t, I recommend making one of my first three suggestions since these are timeless classics that work most of the time and never go out of fashion.

Below, you will find my ten favorite things to do on a first date.

10. Going to a Restaurant

In my last article, I gave you an example of going to a fancy restaurant.

Of course, it doesn’t need to be fancy. Any place where you can grab a decent bite of food will do.

If she likes Italian food, then go to an Italian restaurant. It is as simple as that.

Am I the only one thinking about Lady and the Tramp now?

9. Going to an Ice Cream Bar

Another classic that stands the test of time.

Most women like sweet things, even if it’s not good for them, and they might even crave them during certain times of the month.

Most women like ice cream, even if it makes them “fat.”

It is also a great way to create good feelings associated with you.

You are giving her something sweet, which means she should associate it with you being sweet.

I know it’s a bit tacky, but it works like a charm.

8. Drinking Coffee At a Café

Going out to a café to drink a cup of coffee is my all-time favorite about first dates.

This is also how I began dating girls and later women.

Of course, I am from one of the countries that drink the most coffee in the world to be a cultural thing.

It is, however, a great way to meet someone for the first time in a relaxed environment where you can chit-chat and get to know your date a bit better.

7. Take Her Out on a Picnic

Online Dating Is Like A Picnic Basket

A picnic might be an even better option than a café.

Sitting on a blanket in the grass, close to each other, watching others in the park, talking, and enjoying the great outdoors, each other, and having a bottle of wine, maybe some cheese and fruit is quite good, now isn’t it?

It is quite an enjoyable experience when you see people walking their dogs, children playing, and other couples having a picnic in the park.

Try to focus on your date and not on your phone.

When you are on a date, the focus should be on your date and not on your phone or your social media.

It is OK to share a picture of your picnic on social media.

Don’t be on your phone all the time because your focus should be on your date and not your phone.

6. Watch a Film Together

This is another classic, of course, but there’s nothing wrong with the classics.

Nowadays, with services like Netflix and HBO, you can watch a film together from the comfort of your home, and you don’t have to go to the cinema to enjoy a movie.

However, there is still something romantic about going to the cinema.

Since I generally don’t recommend going to someone’s home or inviting someone into your own home on a first date, I recommend you go to the cinema and enjoy an evening out.

5. Go to the Theatre

Watching a play at a theatre is a great idea.

Especially if you both like this kind of entertainment, it is an excellent idea for a first date.

If you both enjoy the Theatre, why don’t you make that into a great first date for both of you?

It would be even better if the tickets were hard to come by and your date would love to watch a particular actor in a specific role or performance.

4. Sports Event or Concert

Not everyone appreciates going to a theatre to watch a play.

Some of you might enjoy the excitement of a sports event or enjoy listening to a band you both like.

A violent hockey game, a football game between your team and their greatest rivals, could be much more exciting and enjoyable if both of you aren’t into the fine arts or wants some great and exciting entertainment.

3. Take a Cooking or Baking Class Together

My third best tip is to take a cooking or baking class with your date.

baking class
Baking together can create a shared experience. It will create a shared memory and something to discuss on your next date.

You will create shared memory, and you are also allowed to eat what you baked or cooked, making it a bit cheaper and much more enjoyable for both of you.

It also creates something to talk about for the second date as well.

An additional benefit is that you can see how the two of you are working as a team.

2. Worship Together

You wouldn’t think of worshipping together as a great idea for a first date, but it can be that.

Especially if you are seeking a godly relationship.

If your religion is a big part of who you are, you should invite the person you are dating into your local congregation.

You will have to do it eventually, so why not do it straight away?

Likewise, if you don’t share a common faith, it is equally important to see if the other person can expect this side of you and accept that this is a part of you.

I even read that a woman who studied to become a minister asked the man she was dating, an atheist, serving as a first date.

For this reason, this is my second-best tip for a first date.

1. Ballet Class or Watching Ballet

My first tip for a first date is to participate in a beginner’s ballet class or watch Ballet performed by professionals.

This is a way to make some fun memories and make her laugh.

Just imagine yourself in tights, especially if you’re a man, slightly overweight, a bit clumsy, and not having the best balance in the world.

That would be pretty funny, wouldn’t it?
