Are First Dates the Worst Dates Ever?

Are first dates the worst dates ever?

Let me make one thing clear, right from the beginning:

The first dates are different from the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and even seventh dates.

Why?

Because you do not know the person you’re dating the first time you meet each other.

First of all, you need to prioritize your own safety. That should always be your main concern whenever you meet someone you have never met before.

Here’s a checklist of what you need to remember on first dates.

Second of all, make sure that your data is in a public place, whether it’s a café, a restaurant, or a bar. This is also important for your own security.

If you have been on several first dates, the chances are that you start to come up with genuine and unique ideas.

This is really important if you wish to “stand out” from other singles.

First Date Advice: Avoid The Awkward Silence

When you meet someone for the first time, even if you have been talking for a while, via texting, a dating site, or social media, the chances are that you run out of topics to discuss.

If this happens, don’t worry, I got you covered!

Read my article about the forty-five best questions to ask on a first date, and you will have a lot to discuss. There are some things you could discuss, as well.

Remember that there are things you should avoid discussing too!

First Date Advice: Allow Your Self-Confidence to Shine Through

Trust me when I write that your self-confidence always matters whenever you meet another human being.

For this reason, I advise you to boost your self-confidence before the first date.

Because when you feel self-confident, the person you are dating will notice, and you will also be more relaxed and able to be yourself. It also releases some of the stress and tension you will feel before a first date.

However, this is something natural and something you need to handle. Here’s my recommendation on how to cope with that kind of stress.

It is absolutely pivotal that you learn this first.

When you have learned that, you will use your self-confidence as an attraction method on your first date.

First Date Advice: Don’t Forget What You Wear

What you wear on a first date is important.

I can’t emphasize this enough, and it doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman. One of the most important things is, of course, your smile.

Other than that, you should really wear something that makes you stand out from a crowd. Here are my tips for both men and women.

First Date Advice: Your Behavior Is Important

Your behavior always matters no matter which date you are on.

Most of us always display our best behavior on a first date, which you need to remember.

However, it would help if you were also on the lookout for these behaviors since they might indicate a problem that this person has, which they might do their best to cover up.

You can not really tell if a person is manipulating you on a first date, I need to point out. Why? Because you don’t know that person that well yet.

First Date Advice: What to Do At The End of The First Date

There are no rights or wrongs in dating.

All dates are different. Whether it is different persons you are dating or the same person, your interpersonal relationship will change.

For this reason, you must trust your gut feeling on any date.

Some men and women are okay with kissing on the first date, while others are not. For this reason, my answer to the question many of you are wondering right now: Should I kiss on a first date or not? Is: It depends on if it feels right or not.

If both of you are Christians, too, I need to add that it depends on your church’s teachings on this matter. For some Christians, it is outstanding, but for others, it’s not!

IMPORTANT: Always remember that forcing you upon another human being is never okay, and a no is always a no.

This is what the Bible is teaching us about first dates.

First Date Tips: Is It Okay to Ask for a Second Date?

As I wrote in the previous section, it depends on your feelings.

If you felt that the date went well, you should do it, and I advise you not to wait until the day after before you ask. I would rather suggest that you do it at the end of your first date.

First Date Tips: Should I Contact My Date Afterwards?

Again, if the date went well: YES! If not, don’t!

This is my simple advice to you, and you are more than welcome to share it by tweeting it to your friends: [Tweet “If The #FirstDate Went Well, Contact Your Date Again, Otherwise Don’t Do That #DatingAdvice #DatingTips”]

You can choose texting, social media, or even calling your date.

If your date doesn’t answer you within 24 – 48 hours, stop contacting that person despite asking them for a reply.

If they haven’t responded within that time frame, that person is clearly not interested in getting to know you. Let it be that person’s loss and move on!

First Date Tips: Practice Makes Perfect

I know this is an old expression, and you have probably heard it a zillion times in your life.

However, as with everything in life, practice and experiences will eventually make you confident and experienced enough to go on a second date and then on a third, and so on.

Until you get into a long-term relationship that hopefully will eventually lead to marriage and a family of your own.

Dating is no exception. Just don’t give up and be persistent.

This is my best and final advice to you right now.
